Gus Reyes Born June 27, 1977, Gus Reyes is a Mexican musician and composer primarily focused on film scoring. Reyes began his studies in music at the age of 8. His father, Jesus Gustavo Ramírez Avila, student of the great guitar players Manuel López Ramos and Andrés Segovia, was his first teacher in music. He studied in many important music institutions ending with his application to the "Cardenal Miranda Institute", where Reyes spent most of his youth studying music. Great Mexican teachers had been part of his education, like Xavier Gonzalez Tezcucano, Luis Armando Elias Chain, Philippe H. Tolon, Juan Trigos, Jorge Torres Sáenz, Jaime Uribe, Eduardo Gamboa, among others. Reyes studied majors in Composition, Orchestral and Choral Conducting and Musicology. There are countless examples of Reyes's music in Mexican film industry like "Magnicidio", "El Ultimo Evangelio", "El Ultimo País Mágico", "El Secreto" and the soon to be released films "The Dark Side of Light" and "El Entrenador". Reyes also has collaborated with other composers like Andres Sanchez-Maher in "El Mas Buscado" and Francisco Albisua in "El Fantástico Mundo de Juan Orol" as additional composer and orchestrator.
